Evolution of Gibson CS 336 and its Related Models
Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011Gibson ES 336 is a semi acoustic and electric guitar. This guitar is manufactured by the Art and Historic Division of Gibson Guitar Corporation. This guitar was introduced in 2001. This guitar was the first tonally carved guitar of the Custom Shop. This means that the back, sides and the center block are carved from a single piece of wood. This wood is mated to carved maple top so that it will produce an exceptionally resonance instrument with a woody tone. After the past 100 years, this guitar represented the founder of the company’s realization goal to produce one instrument with a 1-piece back and side construction.
This guitar was a scaled down version of Gibson ES 335. Gibson ES 335 is another highly regarded guitar. Guitarists all over the world have long appreciated the sound of the ES 335. However, there are some guitarists who find this instrument too heavy or large for a comfortable and extended playing. The guitar CS 336 preserves the 335’s body lines but is also scaled down the same size of the Gibson Les Paul for more comfort when playing.
